Siarhei Verameyenka, head of the BChD organisation in Białystok, has announced a campaign in support of regular liturgies in Belarusian.
According to Siarhei Verameyenka, meetings have already taken place with worshippers, priests and the leaders of Belarusian communities in the Białystok region. Signature collection began at the Tutaka festival and is now continuing among worshippers in the Belarusian diaspora.
At least ten thousand Orthodox Belarusians live in Białystok, yet there are still no regular services in Belarusian. The BChD community in Białystok has therefore begun collecting signatures for regular services and is calling on residents of Podlasie to join the campaign.
Signatures are being collected on paper for submission to church and state institutions in Podlasie. For example, it will be possible to sign at the meeting with Pavel Seviarynets in Białystok on 15 October at 19:00 at the Novaya Zyamlya hub.
